[In the Student Council Room]

Some students remained in the school building to do the cleanup work after the graduation ceremony.

Of course, that included us members of the new student council and Knights of the Academy.

Sir Abel would be holding a dinner party to celebrate Reina’s graduation at his family residence later tonight.

I’d been invited, but there was quite some time until then, so I decided to stay in school and help the others clean up.

“You know you could have fun with your sister today, don’t you?”

“Yeah, you’re too diligent.”

Jarvis and Madeline said as soon as they entered the student council room as I was sorting out the paperwork for the handover.

“What does it feel like sitting on the student council president’s seat?” Jarvis asked.

“Well, not too bad.”

“Oh, here I thought you’d sound more… excited,” said Madeline.

“I mean, if I didn’t get my act together, Reina wouldn’t be able to leave the student council to me with peace of mind.”

“I think you’re already doing more than what’s required of you,” remarked Jarvis.

“Yeah, I’d even go to say that you’re the busiest person in the academy,” Madeline exclaimed.

The student council and the Knights of the Academy.

Not only did I belong to both organizations, but I was also their head. I might be the busiest student, as Madeline said.

However, it gave me a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.

Because I had friends I could count on.

“It’s rough, sure… but with you guys’ help, I’ve got nothing to worry about.”

“Hehe, just hit me up anytime you need me.”

“Same here. I’ll even be your bread shuttle if you’d like me to.”

“Hahaha, you better not get back on your words, okay?”

As the three of us chatted, there was a knock on the door. “Excuse me.”

After I said, “Come on in,” in entered Tayte.

“Oh, looks like it’s time for us to take a break.”

“Yup. Wouldn’t want to be a third wheel.”

Jarvis and Madeline made their way out of the room, passing by Tayte. But right after Jarvis left the room, Madeline suddenly turned around and said, “Oh right, Barrett.”

“What’s up? Forgot something?”

“Nah. It’s just I heard they built this room soundproofed so that the contents of meetings don’t get leaked when they’re held here. As long as you’re not too loud, no one will hear you.”

“…Madeline.”

“Have fun~.” Madeline left with a smirk on her face.

That little… There was no way I’d do indecent things in this hallowed student council room.

“? What was Madeline talking about?”

“You’ll better off not knowing. …Please stay as you are.”

“I’m not quite sure as to what you mean, but I’ll try my best if that’s what you want!”

See?

The best Tayte was the pure Tayte. I must protect her from Madeline’s corrupted ideas.

“Anyway, what brings you here, Tayte?”

“Huh? W-well…” Tayte stuttered before falling silent, her face gradually turning red.

After a short while, she muttered shyly, “…Nothing in particular.”

“Huh?”

“I-I mean, not officially at least… I-I just wanted to meet you… and before I knew it, I found myself here…”

“…………”

I somehow managed to retain my consciousness from the overload of cuteness.

That reminded me, I had to go to the party tonight, so I wouldn’t be in the dorm.

Tayte should know that, so…

“Alright.”

“B-Barrett?”

“I’ll stay here until the carriage comes to pick me up. Let’s chat until then… we’re gonna be even more busy starting tomorrow, too.”

“! S-sure!” Tayte agreed with a smile.

After that, we talked about various things in the student council room until the carriage arrived.
