[Graduation]

Reina’s graduation day had finally come.

The ceremony was set to take place in the auditorium.

The area around it was bustling from early in the morning. The crowd might be bigger than back during the academy festival.

“The crowd’s crazy…”

“There are more people than last year, yes.”

Tayte and I muttered upon arriving at the auditorium after breakfast. The hustle and bustle took us by surprise. It was almost hard to believe it was still early morning.

That aside… last year, huh.

I didn’t recall anything about last year’s graduation ceremony from Barrett’s memory.

It wasn’t that it didn’t leave an impression on him, but rather he hadn’t been interested.

…Come to think of it, I hadn’t recall anything new from Barrett’s memory lately.

Before, events from the past would vaguely come to my mind, but it hadn’t occurred in the last few months. Did that mean I’d already viewed all his memories? But I didn’t think that was the case…

After that, Tayte and I split up and headed to our respective posts in order to complete our respective tasks related to the graduation ceremony.

By the way, I was in charge of lighting.

I imbued my mana into the brilliant lumen stones specially made by Miss Teixeira and shined the stage of the graduation ceremony.

This was the new student council’s first job.

“Let’s do our best, Lord Barrett!”

“Yeah.”

By the way, Raul was also in charge of the lighting.

Now that I thought about it, we were supposed to be at odds until the very end in the original novel. For us to be working together as fellow members of the student council like this would be absolutely impossible in the original novel [Rise of the Weakest Holy Swordsman].

While such a thought circulated in my mind, the school band went on standby, and the guests and the second and first years got into their designated positions.

By the way, my parents were among the guests. My father’s eyes were already red, to boot. I hoped he wouldn’t pass out the moment the ceremony started…

I also spotted Reina’s fiancée, Sir Abel.

To think he’d go out of his way to take a leave from his work and attend… talk about a devoted fiancé.

“It’s finally about to start…”

“Yeah. You’ve got what we’ve got to do, right?”

“We have to shine the graduates when they enter—am I correct?”

“Exactly.”

After finishing the final confirmation, we bumped our fists and prayed for success.

In conclusion, the graduation ceremony was a great success.

Well, some accidents happened, buuut everything went according to plan, and that was all that mattered. My father didn’t pass out and had been to properly see Reina’s gallant figure until the end.

Reina had given a speech as the student representative.

The way she proudly stood with her back straight in front of so many students and guests and delivered her speech dignifiedly looked so cool even to me, her brother.

After the ceremony was over, the graduates proceeded to celebrate with their underclassmen, guests, and parents in the plaza just outside the auditorium.

The crowd around Reina was especially big.

Well, it was natural. She was popular with both boys and girls.

Her fiancé, Sir Abel, then came into the scene. I was so far away that I couldn’t make out what he said, but he probably gave her his blessing. Reina, on the receiving end, covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes filled with tears. After a while, she jumped into Sir Abel’s arms and hugged him tightly.

Now she could grant her wish to walk toward the future with her fiancée which didn’t come true in the original storyline.

Looking at her joyful face, I was assured once again… that this was her ‘true ending’ rather than becoming a member of the protagonist’s harem.

Reina, Sir Abel, may you live happily ever after.
