[One Day in the Student Council’s Room]

The day after the birthday festival.

The academy began preparations for the next ball.

“I guess this will be our last big event for a while…”

“Well, after the ball, there will be only regular exams, and then we’ll have a summer break.”

“Speaking of summer break, where should we go this summer?”

“Hmm… I’d love to visit somewhere we’ve never been before, if possible.”

“That’s a good idea! I’ll ask Marina and the rest for recommendations.”

After classes.

I, the student council president, and Tayte, the vice president, were alone in the student council room and ended up having that kind of private conversation in the middle of our work.

However, we soon got back to work.

It was stuff related to the next ball.

The last ball a year ago had taken place not long after I had become Barrett Albers.

Looking back, it was around then that I found out that Jarvis was a girl.

Then, later during the closing party of the academy festival, Jarvis came out about her real gender to everyone.

This led to the ruin of the Lekrust family and the Halman family. With the noble families secretly plotting to overthrow the throne gone, peace returned to the kingdom.

…Then again, it seemed that the kingdom wasn’t completely out of the woods yet.

As such thoughts were in my mind, there was a knock on the door.

“Excuse me.”

Then came in Kleine.

“This is the list of guests that we’ll invite to the ball, can you verify it?”

“Thanks, Kleine. I’ll check it right away.”

I received the documents from Kleine and read through them.

The number of guests was slightly less than last year.

Some people most likely had refused in advance.

Well, I couldn’t blame them.

Last year there was a big fuss with the attack of the synthetic monster. The Lekrust family and the Halman family, who had been behind it, might be gone now, but they wouldn’t want to risk their lives on the off chance that another incident happened again.

Though, the security for this year’s ball would be ramped up.

Principal Abigail had taken it upon herself to take care of it.

Of course, we, the Knights of the Academy, would also be alert, but we were still students as well, and this ball was meant for students.

I had to let Raul and Andrei enjoy it too.

Speaking of, I failed to find out who ‘The One Who Knows the Truth of This World’ truly was at the birthday festival in the end.

She should be a student given what Tayte had said.

So during this ball, I was going to find her.

Then I would ask her.

How did she know so much about this world?

Was she a reincarnated person like me?

Or was she–

“You’re making a really serious face again, Barrett.”

Tayte’s voice brought me back to reality.

“Always lost in your thought, aren’t you?” Remarked Kleine.

“You look wonderful when you are lost in thought… but I’d rather you pay more attention to me…”

“Could you please not flirt all of a sudden, and when I’m here?”

…How many times had we had this exchange?

I got to pull myself together.

I was now the student council president, after all.

Afterward, I returned the guest list to Kleine.

Kleine then left the student council room after saying she’d drop by the teachers’ office to deliver it before returning to the dorm.

“Should we get back too?”

“Sure!”

And thus, another peaceful day came to an end.

…I wished things would stay like this until we graduated.
