[Jarvis’ Feelings]

The ball was just a few days away now.

Around this time, a certain topic became hot among the girls.

The topic was: dress.

“Mother will help me choose my dress again this year,” said Tayte with a smile on her face.

The dress that Lady Lilia chose, huh… Come to think of it, the one Tayte wore during the academy festival perfectly suited her, enhancing her loveliness so much that I almost ascended to heaven. Maybe because of that? She seemed eager to choose the perfect dress… Was I going to die this time?

With such worry running through my mind, I looked around the classroom and found quite a few couples of boys and girls conversing.

When boys and girls chat with each other during this period, that could only mean one thing—they had a special relationship.

For instance, Raul and Eureka.

“Hey, Raul. I’m thinking of wearing a dress this year. Do you have any suggestions?”

“I’m sure you’ll look good no matter what you wear.”

“Mmh, I need an idea, not flattery.”

So Eureka said, but her face reddened.

The two sure got along~. But watching them while gritting their teeth were those who had yet to have a dance partner for the ball.

Well, it was the fate of those still single. They had to look for a partner willing to dance with them. The only silver lining was we had a dance class, so everyone should be able to dance.

After classes.

The student council and the Knights of the Academy had a meeting in regard to the upcoming ball.

“—And that’s about it.”

Summarized on the blackboard were the duty assignments.

That said, we didn’t get much to do.

This came from the consideration of Principal Abigail, who said “You guys are students as well, so you should enjoy yourselves.”

In addition to that, we would have few guests this year due to the incident during the ball last year and several knights would be coming as security, so our workload was drastically decreased.

And as a result, our topic shifted to how to enjoy the ball.

“This will be my first school ball, so I’m going enjoy myself to the fullest,” Madeline remarked.

However… would she be able to?

Stripped of their peerage and with their family head arrested, I heard her family had been having a rough time even…

“Ah, the school will lend me a dress, President Barrett! So you don’t have to worry.” She seemed to have guessed what I was thinking from my expression.

But well, glad she was so excited.

No matter how gorgeous a dress was, it would be meaningless if the one wearing it was down, after all.

“I will surely penetrate the hearts of wonderful gentlemen with wealth and status.” Madeline declared loudly.

…She sure had grown stronger.

In that kind of mood, everyone was talking about the ball excitedly—well, everyone except a certain girl who had a long face.

“What’s wrong, Jarvis?”

“Huh? Why do you ask?”

It was Jarvis.

“Well, you seem a little unwell.”

“Hahaha, gosh, no. Not at all.”

Jarvis smiled, but… it seemed kind of forced.

At that time, Madeline interjected.

“That reminds me, are you going to wear a dress, Jarvis?”

“Huh?!” Jarvis startled and panicked.

…I see.

She had been hiding her real gender until last year, but now she had come out that she was in fact a girl.

Should she continue to participate as a boy like before, or should she wear a dress and participate as a girl? That was the problem plaguing Jarvis’s mind.
