Chapter 270 Setting A Bilbeth Premier League Record

That goal from Dave was what one would describe as unbelievable, impossible, and exhilarating.

The goalkeeper had been trying to score from that far since their first pre-season match and now he had finally gotten that goal.

"There's no way, absolutely no way that Dave Richards scored a goal before most of the fowards in the Bilbeth Premier League," Steve said sarcastically.

"But he just did it," Jim said with a little chuckle.

Unique FC were still leading the game two goals to nothing as the time for the first-half break drew near.

A lot of people, even Black Roz FC fans, still couldn't get that goal by Dave off their minds because it was something they have never seen a goalkeeper do in the Bilbeth Premier League and when things like that happen, records are set.

[ You have set a Bilbeth Premier League record ]

[ You are now the first and only goalkeeper to score from 42 yards out ]

"With that goal, Dave Richards has now created a new Bilbeth Premier League record, the record of the only goalkeeper to score from approximately forty-two yards out." Jim expressed.

"That's a decent record to set," Steve said.

'First goalkeeper to score from forty-two yards out, that means a player who is not a goalkeeper has done it before.' Dave said subconsciously.

<Yeah, about three players have done it from that but you are the only goalkeeper to ever do it, you set the record for goalkeepers and now they'll start trying to match it or beat it>

'That sounds cool, but if three players have matched the record, doesn't that make me the fourth player to do it?'

<In general terms, yeah>

'Nice, I'm now a record holder in the Bilbeth Premier League.' The goalkeeper said subconsciously with a bright smile on his

Forty-five minutes was being displayed on the scoreboard with four minutes of added time which Black Roz FC were trying to do something with.

Mason received the ball down the left wing and tried to get past Minino but he knew that was going to be tough so he opted to pass the ball to Aveiro.

Aveiro received the ball and moved forward with it a little before rolling it to his striking partner who wasn't that far away from him on the right side.

George could have moved forward with the ball and tried to create something but instead, he sent the ball rolling back to their right back who was about to cross the forty yards line now.

"He's sent it back," Jim said.

That was all part of their plan as the right back quickly sent the ball to the attacking midfielder who without hesitation sent the ball flying toward Aveiro Mir who had broken past Pirlo to get into the box.

"This looks promising."

Aveiro was on the clear, but before the ball could get to him for him to do what he wanted to do with it, Dave rushed off his goal line and dived toward the ball to punch it out for a throw-in with both of his hands.

Aveiro was brought down by him in the process and raised his hand to call for a foul but the referee knew that there was no foul there.

"Good decisiveness by Dave there, who knows what would have happened if Aveiro had gotten his head on that ball," Jim said.

"With Dave rushing out like that, it would have definitely been a goal but the goalkeeper did his job well and the result was a throw-in which may or may not be taken." Steve expressed.

Unfortunately for Black Roz FC, that throw-in was not going to stand as the referee blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.

"That's the whistle, the first half of this mostly one-sided but interesting match has come to an end," Jim said as the players made their way down the tunnel.

"Yeah, it has certainly been an entertaining one, but things are not looking good for Black Roz FC even as they head down the tunnel." Steve expressed. "They are two goals with one man less on the pitch, their coach will have to find a way to use the players he has left on the pitch efficiently in the second half, but to be honest, Jim, I don't see them coming back from this one."

Unique FC players were all in the locker room now with Norman standing in front of them, you could tell he was happy with his team's first-half performance by the grin on his face.

"You have all done well so far in this first half, a two-goal lead is good but we shouldn't be done yet, they currently have ten men on the pitch and we haven't used that to our advantage yet, with their current situation, we should be able to get two or more goals in the second half." Norman articulated.

After telling the players everything that he wanted to tell them, they rested a bit in the locker room before they were told to start heading to the pitch.

"Welcome back everyone, the second half of this interesting match is about to kick off as we can see the players making their way to the pitch now." Jim expressed as the players made their way to the pitch.

"Looks like Black Roz FC's manager has made a few changes, let's hope he also changed his tactics to match up with Unique FC and maybe make this match a little bit even although I think that's not possible but, I've seen the impossible become possible in football a lot of times." Steve articulated.

Black Roz FC were going to be the ones to start the kick-off and right now, Aveiro was standing over the ball waiting for the referee's.

After making sure that everything was set and everyone was ready, the referee blew his whistle to start the second half.

"There's the whistle and the second half is on the way," Jim said.

Aveiro quickly passed the ball back to Mason who quickly pushed it back to one of the defensive midfielders to try and draw Unique FC's players out a bit.

After receiving the ball from Mason, the defensive midfielder feinged moving backward before he quickly turned and zoomed past Ferran who had closed up on him at that time.

"Nice movement."

The defensive midfielder quickly moved the ball to George who moved forward with it without any form of hesitation.

He was quite determined and that determination led him to find his way past Jonas putting him on the floor in the process.

"Black Roz FC are attacking fiercely here."

With Jonas out of the way, the striker was able to get into the box.

He feinged shooting toward the goalpost to put Adolf on the floor before he laid off the ball to Mason at the edge of the box.

The attacking midfielder moved into the box with the ball and was about to shoot when he tripped on Mason's foot and fell right inside the box.

The referee quickly blew his whistle as he quickly got closer to the area.

"That's a foul against Mason but did it happen inside the box?"

Unique FC players gathered around the referee to try and tell him something but he wasn't listening and pointed to the spot for a penalty kick.

"It's a penalty! Black Roz FC have earned themselves a very good chance to pull one back."
