CH 33.1

Chapter 33.1 – Your Highness, Don’t Cause Trouble (1)

The small, tender white hand pressed on her chest. Even Lu Qipei, who had seen a lot of the little princess’s surprises, was a little confused at this moment. It wasn’t until that restless little hand pressed her chest again slightly harder did she quickly take a step back, as if she regained her consciousness.

Then, visible to naked eyes, her white cheeks slowly turned red, and kept getting even redder and redder until it looked like it was about to bleed!

This was probably the most absurd thing that Lu Qipei had ever experienced. She raised her arms to protect her chest and couldn’t say anything for a long time.

Finally, she looked at Qi Yang and the coffin beside her, and only one sentence could come out. “You, what are you doing!?”

The softness under her palm suddenly went away, making Qi Yang feel a little regretful. The restless little hand was immediately pulled back by its owner, and the movement was so natural that it seemed that what it had done earlier was something par for the course.

Qi Yang was much calmer than Lu Qipei, or rather, she was relieved after confirming the latter’s identity. However, molesting someone in the mourning hall of course wasn’t right, even if it was Lu Qicheng who died.

She sincerely apologized, “I’m sorry, I was being rude. It’s just that I saw the person in the coffin… and you two really look alike.”

Her tone was so earnest that Lu Qipei was stunned after listening to her explanation, and the little bit of annoyance that rarely appeared vanished in an instant.

She could see Qi Yang’s temporary nervousness, and she vaguely understood what she was thinking. It also made her subconsciously think of her previous life. Back then, she was secretly replaced by Lu Qicheng. Did the little princess in front of her ever figured out anything unusual?

But when that thought came up, she just felt that it was ridiculous. After all, it wasn’t that Lu Qicheng replaced her in her previous life, but she had met Qi Yang under Lu Qicheng’s identity in the first place. In the eyes of Qi Yang in the past, she was a man, so how could she had used this kind of method to verify her identity?

After she was replaced, Qi Yang would probably still have lived a willful life with her Prince Consort without realizing anything, right?

She couldn’t help but feel sour when she thought of this. She pursed the corner of her lips and decided to stop thinking about it. Instead, she took Qi Yang’s hand and said, “Alright, you’ve seen him. Let’s not stay here any longer and go out.”

Qi Yang didn’t refuse anymore, she obediently followed Lu Qipei and walked around the white flags, and went out without taking another look at the person inside the coffin.

The two returned outside the mourning hall, and Qi Yang was not in a rush to leave. She accompanied Lu Qipei to burn paper money for the spirit, but she kept telling the latter to take good care of her body.

Of course, Lu Qipei would not be too sad about Lu Qicheng’s death – after all, her younger brother died by her own hands. But her clean hands had been stained with human life, and it still made her feel uneasy. She hadn’t had a good rest for several days.

Qi Yang felt distressed when she saw the blue and black colors under Lu Qipei’s eyes. She pulled on Lu Qipei’s sleeves to make her turn her head and asked, “Did you not have a good rest lately? You don’t look so good, don’t wear yourself out.”

Knowing that she was concerned, Lu Qipei said helplessly, “It’s fine. I just couldn’t sleep. I’ll be fine after a while.”

Qi Yang could probably guess how Lu Qipei felt; after all, the latter’s temperament was too soft. It was so soft that Qi Yang never expected that she could be ruthless enough to make a move on Lu Qicheng. How could she ask her to be indifferent towards her brother’s death?

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel more distressed. So when Lu Qipei turned around again and continued adding more paper money to the brazier, Qi Yang suddenly put her hands around Lu Qipei’s head, making her lean on her shoulders. “It won’t do if you can’t sleep. There’s no one here right now, so I’ll lend you my shoulder to lean on.”

Lu Qipei was caught unprepared by Qiyang’s sudden action again. The paper money in her hand was lit before she could throw it in, and her sleeves almost got burned. However, she couldn’t feel any resentment in her heart. She just raised her head and said, “Your Highness, don’t cause trouble.”

Qi Yang blinked and looked at her innocently, making Lu Qipei’s heart go soft. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

In the end, Lu Qipei could not refuse Qi Yang. She put down the paper money, leaned her head on Qi Yang’s shoulder, and closed her eyes. Qi Yang patted her on the back again and again, as if she were coaxing her to sleep.

The atmosphere in the mourning hall was no longer as cold as before. At this moment, it was instead warm.

Ever since Princess Qi Yang’s arrival, Qi Bo had never looked away from the two. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, he was always observing them.

To be honest, even before he saw Qi Yang with his own eyes, he had been speculating about their relationship. The subordinate in charge of monitoring told him more than once that the two were very friendly, even intimate. But in Qi Bo’s opinion, no matter how close their relationship was, there would always be a limit.

At the very least, Lu Qipei would be concerned about her identity, and would take the initiative in maintaining this limit.

But what he witnessed today seemed quite different from what he imagined.

Qi Bo wasn’t blind, so he could naturally see how Lu Qipei’s eyes suddenly turned bright when he noticed Qi Yang’s arrival. He also saw how they both got along harmoniously, and saw the slight red on Lu Qipei’s cheeks when they came out of the mourning hall.

This, this, this… what was happening here?
