CH 58.2

Chapter 58.2 – Her Little Princess

After their marriage decree had been announced, the opportunities for the two to meet had obviously been greatly reduced. But because Qi Yang had people outside the palace, they actually still managed to communicate a lot.

Sometimes sending a letter, sometimes sending a gift. There was a different kind of charm to it.

But while some things could be written in letters for others to pass on, some things could never be put on paper. These included the papers filled with names that Lu Qipei wrote that day. Qi Yang memorized them all that night, and burned them off straight away in Lu Qipei’s room.

She had been so cautious these days, so naturally she didn’t have the time to be the slightest bit angry with Lu Qipei.

Today was a rare encounter, and the Crown Prince also told her to go see Lu Qipei, so Qi Yang was very happy. After abducting Lu Qipei, she got a private room at a tea house, sat down and began to talk about the progress of her arrangements.

There was the saying that two heads were better than one, plus Her Royal Highness The Princess had her own power behind her. With her joining in, the progress of monitoring and digging out the forces behind the Lu family had significantly accelerated.

Qi Yang dipped her finger on her tea and drew on the table – she had already sketched out the network of relationships. Because her investigation had not gone on for long, it was certainly not perfect, but it was still quite surprising.

Lu Qipei smacked her lips as she looked at the complicated network of relationships. She really didn’t know how much time and effort Qi Bo and his colleagues had spent to establish such a network in today’s peaceful and prosperous world.

Of course, now that these had been found out by Her Royal Highness The Princess, there could only be one end…

That was what Lu Qipei thought, but then she saw Qi Yang looking at her with bright eyes. “Ah Pei, I’ve investigated. Most of these people aren’t evil, they are just driven by interest. To be more direct, they are tied to the big boat that is the Lu family. If you can get Qi Bo and the others’ sincere assistance, then it might not be impossible to get them all at the palm of your hand.”

This would be a huge force. Although Qi Yang had no ambition to fight for power and wealth, her experience in her previous life had made her clearly understand how important it was to have the power to protect herself.

She didn’t want to have a conflict with the Crown Prince, but if she could get her hands on a powerful force for basically nothing, then it couldn’t have been better.

This was no different than having a pie suddenly falling from the sky right into your lap!

Lu Qipei was dazzled by Qi Yang’s burning gaze, and she subconsciously muttered, “Your Highness, why are you…”

Qi Yang looked at her and slightly raised her eyebrows. “What about me?” Then she said, “Rather, what am I like in your heart?”

Seeing her so forward, the confusion in her heart grew even bigger – what exactly was Qi Yang like in her heart? Of course, she was a naïve and cute little princess, one that was spoiled by the Emperor and the Crown Prince and didn’t understand about worldly affairs!

Although, after meeting her ins this life, she found that the person in front of her was slightly different from the one in her impression. Her ambitious look was one she had never seen before in her life.

Maybe she had always been wrong. How could there be anyone so naïve in the royal family?

Thinking about it, Lu Qipei was a bit dazed and shaken. But when she thought about how Qi Yang had been so sincere to her, that little wavering immediately disappeared. She pursed her lips and said, “In my heart, Your Highness is sincere and cute. You are the best.”

Perhaps not expecting such an evaluation, Qi Yang was temporarily stunned, then she immediately smiled. But that smile suddenly disappeared and turned into an indescribable sadness, “No matter how naïve and ignorant someone is, they need to be able to protect themselves.”

Those words seemed to have gone straight to Lu Qipei’s heart, making her turn silent for a while.

Qi Yang didn’t rush her either – she picked up the teapot and refilled both of their cups. After seeing the calm return to Lu Qipei’s eyes, she continued her previous sentence meaningfully. “Don’t you think so, my Prince Consort?”

Lu Qipei’s hand had just picked up the tea cup when is suddenly trembled. Light-yellow tea spilled out and fell on the back of her hand. Fortunately, the pot of tea had been out for quite a while and was no longer boiling hot. The warm tea falling on her hand wasn’t a big deal.

But Lu Qipei was still very flustered. Although she tried her best to cover it up, her voice still sounded a bit strange when she finally spoke, “Your Highness is right. But we aren’t married yet, so it’s too early to call me Prince Consort.”

A thin blush appeared on her face as she talked, as if her previous gaffe was just because she was spooked by Qi Yang’s sudden hasty words.

She was indeed spooked, but it wasn’t because Qi Yang suddenly changed her address ahead of time. In fact, the two of them wouldn’t normally care about this little joke. But Qi Yang had called her her Prince Consort so solemnly that there was definitely a deep meaning behind it.

A bold idea quietly appeared in her heart. Perhaps the seeds of doubt had long been planted, and she just never noticed it. But at this moment, those seeds finally took root and germinated, especially after Lu Qipei met Qi Yang’s gaze.

The complex emotions contained in those beautiful eyes seemed to silently confirm her guess – her little princess, seemed to have also returned!?

Because it was her, she recognized her underneath the disguise on the way to the suburbs of the capital and took her away.

Because it was her, she was close to her and fell in love with her from the very start.

Because it was her, she could trust her unreservedly to plan everything…

Author notes:

Qi Yang (sighing): Prince Consort, stop pretending. Us old couples using alt accounts and pretending to be naïve in front of each other all the time, aren’t you tired of it?

Lu Qipei (weakly): Your Highness, I died too early before I could blacken. I’m still really young and innocent…

Qi Yang (face darkening): Are you secretly disliking me for being old?

ps: don’t ask how it was exposed. In fact, there were a lot of inconsistencies when they first met – such as how they were inadvertently over-familiar with each other when they just met. It’s just that their minds were too preoccupied with each other at that time, and they didn’t have the time to get to the bottom of it.

The Her Royal Highness suddenly discovered that Little Lu in this life had taken the initiative a lot, and would dig out the Lu family by herself. She was also excessively trusting and had an unexplainable sense of guilt. So she tried to guess and trick her.

It didn’t matter if she had guessed wrong anyway, she could just talk her way out of it.
