Chapter 67.1 – The Consequences of Willfulness

It was warm inside the curtain of celebration, but it snowed all night outside.

By early morning the next day, the last red candle in the wedding chamber had burned out. White light reflected by the snow outside entered the room through the window. The room filled with red colors grew brighter and more dazzling.

Lu Qipei woke up much later than usual. The Emperor had given her half a month of leave for her marriage, so she wasn’t worried. Plus, she slept a bit late last night, so she woke up late this morning.

But compared to Qi Yang who was still sleeping soundly in her arms, she didn’t really wake up that late. Instead, it gave her a lot of time to quietly observe Qi Yang’s sleeping face.

This wasn’t actually the first time Lu Qipei and Qi Yang slept together, and the last time they stayed in Qi Yang’s courtyard after Lu Qipei became drunk wasn’t either. Since they were married on their previous life, they usually slept together, although they never really became husband and wife.

But back then, the two were really ‘well behaved’, each of them occupying one half of the bed. With the little princess’s pride, she would never take the initiative to ask her for sex. Even when they occasionally woke up near each other, most of the time it was Lu Qipei who woke up first.

Sometimes, she would pretend to leave quietly, but sometimes she would stare distractedly at Qi Yang’s sleeping face. Sometimes she would come back to her senses after watching her for a long time, and sometimes the princess would wake up first. Either way, not even Lu Qipei knew what she was thinking when she got distracted.

Now, once again, Lu Qipei woke up and saw Qi Yang’s sleeping face.

It was as if time had turned back… No, time really did turn back. Looking at the woman in her arms that already belonged to her, Lu Qipei was filled with emotion, but her eyes were as soft as a pool of warm water.

Lu Qipei kept staring at Qi Yang who was sleeping soundly. It looked like it was almost morning, and Lu Qipei accidentally dozed off again. When she woke up, she was hungry. But Her Royal Highness in her arm didn’t move at all, as if she would sleep for a long, long time.

In fact, it was fine for Qi Yang to sleep in a while longer on the first day after the wedding. There were no elders in the Lu family that they needed to greet.

Lu Qipei’s belly made a grumbling sound. She blushed a little and looked towards her arms – fortunately, Her Royal Highness The Princess was still sleeping soundly with her eyes closed. She didn’t get awakened by her stomach’s rumbling, saving Lu Qipei the embarrassment.

Lu Qipei finally couldn’t lie down anymore. There was a warm, fragrant and soft jade that she loved the most in her arms, and her hunger wasn’t unbearable. But her stomach kept rumbling – if Qi Yang woke up and heart it, wouldn’t it be embarrassing?

So in the end, Lu Qipei lightly got up and left Qi Yang. When she left, the person in her arms noticed it. But she just turned over and fell asleep again, holding to the blanket while mumbling.

Lu Qipei almost laughed out loud when she heard that little mumble – ever since she found out about Qi Yang’s experience in the previous life, she could no longer think of her as a little princess. She had experienced far too much, and she had wholly grown up. Even though she pretended to be as bright and easygoing as when she was young, the youthfulness and immaturity had long disappeared from her bones.

Naturally, there was nothing wrong with a mature Royal Highness, and her temperament and style had become even more eye-catching. It’s just that the grown-up little princess didn’t seem as cute as before, that is, until Lu Qipei saw her today when she couldn’t sleep soundly…

With an indescribable good mood, Lu Qipei quickly tidied herself up. She changed her clothes and tied her hair, and saw an expanse of white when she opened the door. A while later, Zhi Ting came leading several maids from outside.

After saluting her, Zhi Ting looked at Lu Qipei. She didn’t understand why the latter blocked the door after opening it.

Lu Qipei coughed softly and said, “Her Highness isn’t awake yet, you don’t need to rush in.” After that, she took the hot water for washing up from the maid, the turned around and closed the door, shutting the group outside to be blown by the cold wind.

Zhi Ting: “…”

A gust of cold wind blew past, making Zhi Ting shiver. She looked speechlessly at the closed door, and finally she could only wave to the maids behind her as she sighed, “It’s cold outside. Let’s go back first and wait.”

Half an hour later, Lu Qipei finished washing up and eating breakfast. When she returned to the bed, she found Qi Yang sleeping so warmly under the blanket that she almost couldn’t tell what time it was.

Qi Yang didn’t eat dinner well last night, and she missed breakfast again this morning. Lu Qipei was worried, so she pulled off the blanket to wake Qi Yang up to eat. When the blanket was opened, she saw Qi Yang’s face in deep sleep, and she somehow had the urge to join her again.

Fortunately, Qi Yang had had enough sleep after tossing and turning so much. Her eyelashes trembled, and she finally woke up.

Qi Yang had just woken up and hadn’t opened her eyes yet, she only reached out her hand to touch the spot by her side, but she couldn’t find anything there. She instantly woke up, and when she opened her eyes, there was even a hint of panic there. She immediately wanted to go and look for that person.

Fortunately, Lu Qipei responded quickly and held her down, “I’m here, don’t be scared.”

Qi Yang stared blankly at her for a moment. As if she was relieved, her previously panicked eyes instantly became hazy again. When she looked at Lu Qipei, her beautiful eyes were watery and affectionate.

Lu Qipei’s heart beat wildly, and she turned her eyes slightly. “Ah Ning, it’s almost noon. You should get up and eat something.”

As she spoke, Lu Qipei seemed to be gazing at an inappropriate spot – because Qi Yang struggled to get up just now, the blanket that was tightly wrapped around her had loosened, so Lu Qipei could see the marks left on her neck.

Qi Yang didn’t notice it – she woke up and heard Lu Qipei say that it was almost noon, so she decided to get up. But when she was just halfway up, she frowned, freezing as she pursed her lips.

Lu Qipei noticed it and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Hearing this, Qi Yang rolled her eyes and slowly sat up. The discomfort on her body reminded her of their wildness last night… Yes, it wasn’t just Lu Qipei going wild, but also Qi Yang begging her to be.

She had waited for her for too many years. She embraced hoped, experienced despair and it gradually turned into an obsession. Being able to start over was a gift from heaven. Qi Yang had always been grateful for every day she got to spend with Lu Qipei.

And last night, they finally truly belonged to each other. Under the hearts’ stirring, it was hard to suppress the obsession that had seeped deep to their bones…

And this morning, Qi Yang finally felt the consequences of her willfulness. Her back was sore and her legs were like jelly, and she didn’t really want to get up.
