Chapter 104.1 – Departure and Return

Big tigers weren’t easy to deal with, especially when everyone was not prepared to deal with it.

Seeing that the fierce tiger in front of them seemed to have been provoked and had turned around, everyone couldn’t pay attention to how their mounts were restless and fired off another round of arrows. Lu Qipei furrowed her brows and shouted, “Protect Her Highness!”

The princess’s mansion’s attendants were also those that were selected from thousands of options. They were not trash who only knew how to catch rabbits.

When Lu Qipei’s words fell, the people behind her quickly stepped forward and protected the two behind them. At the same time, the tiger who inevitably received some surface wounds was finally angered and gave up the “prey” it had been tracking. It charged towards this large group of people instead.

The yellow and black pattern, the huge body, and its swift, gale-like movement inadvertently revealed the horror of this king of beasts.

People could still suppress the fear in their hearts, but the horses could no longer control their fear. The horses began losing control and wanted to escape, but no one had the time to care about the horses. They all jumped off their horses’ backs with swords drawn.

The tiger approached very quickly, and rushed closer almost in the blink of an eye. The bows and arrows were no longer effective, and facing the fierce tiger’s sharp teeth and claws, the attendants could only use their swords and bodies to block.

Soon, blood fell on the field, a mixture of both tiger and human blood.

Naturally, Lu Qipei and Qi Yang wouldn’t join in the stage, and they had both retreated some distance. Qi Yang touched her bow and arrow like she wanted to help, but seeing the figures intertwining on the scene and the tiger’s body leaping around, she ultimately gave up on this unnecessary idea that might end up harming her own men.

The attendants were strong and skillful. Relying on their numbers, they managed to deal with the fierce tiger, although they inevitably incurred some injuries,.

Seeing that the situation was not too bad, Qi Yang breathed a sigh of relief, finally having the time to look up ahead. But when she did so, she saw that the path ahead was empty. The young boy who had been chased by the fierce tiger and the attendants he was leading had already disappeared from view.

Did he leave them behind and run away?

For some reason, Qi Yang felt a tinge of disappointment in her heart – she was not a reckless person who would sacrifice herself for others. Especially after experiencing death once, the little princess actually cherished her life deeply.

The reason she was so desperate to catch up just now was because she recognized the leading young man as the Emperor’s Eldest Grandson. The other party obviously recognized her, but instead of coming for help, he wanted to leave with the danger.

At that moment, the emotion in Qi Yang’s heart was beyond words. It might be because of the young boy’s good heart, or because of her good relationship with the Crown Prince, she did not hesitate to chase after him, causing the people of the princess’s mansion to face the threat of the beast.

But while they held back the tiger, the Eldest Grandson disappeared without a trace. Qi Yang inevitably felt that she had been calculated against.

Lu Qipei knew Qi Yang the most, and could tell her thoughts just by looking at her eyes. In this situation, she took the time to comfort her and said, “Your Highness, don’t overthink it. Aren’t we worried that the preys weren’t precious enough? With this tiger, even Nanping’s prince consort wouldn’t be able to compare to us.”

Qi Yang couldn’t help but laugh at what she said, and saw that Lu Qipei had already drawn her bow and knocked an arrow. The latter had always been good at archery – her Connected Arrows when she was competing with Xie Hongyi was still fresh in Qi Yang’s memory.

But the current scene was a bit chaotic, with men and tigers moving back and forth. Even with Lu Qipei’s Lu Qipei’s excellent archery skills, she still aimed for a long time and did not dare to easily let loose a shot.

Finally, Lu Qipei found an opening and shot an arrow.

The arrow pierced through the air and flew past a servant’s ear, hitting the right eye of the tiger that was surrounded by everyone!

Fresh blood bloomed, and the tiger howled. The crowd cheered, but the tiger whose vital spot was shot did not weaken. On the contrary, although the arrow injured the tiger, it seemed to stimulate its ferocity instead. When the tiger leaped forward, it was fiercer than before.

One of the attendants was accidentally knocked down, and instantly, his neck was going to be bitten off!

Fortunately, there were many people in the princess’s mansion, and these attendants cooperated quite well. Immediately, someone used his sword to block the tiger’s mouth, and someone else took the opportunity to swing a saber at the tiger’s head. Finally, the tiger was reluctantly forced to let go of the person who had been knocked down.

Still, its sharp claws managed to leave several deep wounds on the attendant’s shoulder. The color of blood spread instantly, and it only took a moment for it to dye half of the attendant’s clothes red, making his face turn even paler.

Biting her lower lip tightly, Lu Qipei drew her bow and arrow again. But the tiger who had just suffered a loss seemed to have noticed her. As she raised her bow and arrow again, it turned its head and roared fiercely at her, as if it could break out of the tight encirclement and come up to bite her to death in the next moment!

Lu Qipei’s eyes met the beast’s fierce and bloodthirsty gaze, but her hand didn’t even shake and she fired another arrow when she saw an opportunity.

Unfortunately, the tiger was particularly wary of her this time. When it saw her shooting her arrow, it moved to the side, even going towards where the swords were without hesitation.

Her arrow missed in the end, but suddenly, an arrow flew right towards the tiger’s back out of nowhere!

Qi Yang wasn’t the one who shot that arrow, and everyone else in the princess’s mansion was already going up against the tiger. The two of them were surprised, and when they looked up, they realized that it was Eldest Grandson who had left before and now returned.

He still had a distressed look, holding a bow and arrow in his hand, proving that the previous arrow had come from him.

Unfortunately, Eldest Grandson was still young and didn’t have sufficient strength in his hands, and his bow also wasn’t strong enough. Even if he could hit its head, it wouldn’t hurt the tiger much.

As expected, in the next moment they saw the tiger swinging its long tail, and the arrow stuck on its back was swept away. It only left a small bleeding wound behind, and even the bleeding was limited, showing that it was just an ordinary wound.

The Eldest Grandson frowned in frustration, and he immediately waved to the attendants behind him, saying, “You all go and help!”
