Volume 3 - CH 27.2

Coincidence is a terrible thing (Part 2)

A few days later, the date we had long been waiting for finally came.

We met at 7:00 p.m when the restaurant opened.

I looked up the location of the restaurant on my smartphone and waited at the entrance of the restaurant.

Then, I saw Hishinuma-san coming from the other side.

“Sorry, did you wait?

“Yes, I’ve been waiting for a long time.”

“Hey… isn’t it normal to say, ‘ I’ve just got here ’ ?”

“Haha, do I look like such an exceptional person?”

“…No, I don’t think so.”

She said it herself, it makes me sad when people don’t deny it.

Well, that’s okay.

It would be a nuisance if we were talking in front of the store, so let’s get inside.

“Hishinuma-san, shall we go inside?”

“Yes, let’s go.”

When we entered the store, it was dimly lit but had a mature atmosphere.

The atmosphere was very similar to that of our part-time job at Aprecio.

That alone made me feel quite relaxed.

“Fufu… It’s a nice place, isn’t it? They have even got private rooms here. Do you want to go there?”

“I’ll leave it to you.”

“Okay. Excuse me, we’d like a private room at…”

“This way, please.” (Waiter)

We followed the waiter and entered the private room.

We sat down and ordered a beer for me and a non-alcoholic drink for Hishinuma-san, and a few snacks along with it.

“Um, why did you order a non-alcoholic drink for me?”

“Well, you see. I can’t let you get drunk and see you show your ugliness like before, can I?”

“Ugh… don’t worry. That time, I drank too quickly … and that’s why it happened! I’ll be fine this time!”

I don’t know what’s okay with her,  but I really don’t want her to get involved in drinking.

Well, I’m sure she’s sorry for her past actions, and maybe it is okay to let her drink this once.

I thought so, but it was a naive idea.

“Hiccup… fufu, …I’m feeling …so good…?”

My bad premonition came true.

It seems that Hishinuma-san’s words were a flag after all.

I’m completely done for.

I should have stopped her.

“Hey, junior! You’re not drinking enough. Come on, drink more!”

“No, I don’t drink it quickly… And didn’t you say that you will not get drunk after drinking alcohol…”

“Ah!? Do I look like I’m drunk!?”

“You’re already drunk…”

It is really tiring to deal with this drunk Hishinuma-san, who seems to have changed her ways.

In cases like this, it’s best to take a break.

“Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom.”

“Are you okay? Do you want my help?”

“Please don’t do that.”

I’m not looking for such perverted behavior being accompanied by a man and a woman in the bathroom.

I left the private room, did my business in the bathroom, and tried to return after a few moments.

“Kakeru-kun?”

On my way there, I heard a very familiar voice.

No way, this voice is …Will there be such a coincidence? No, right?

It must be a hallucination, that’s what it must be.

I pretended to be ignorant of it and tried to go back, but…

She grabbed my arm tightly and said, “Wait, why are you ignoring me?”

It’s not a hallucination after all.

Damn it!

I had chosen this place so that she wouldn’t see me, but it had completely backfired.

“Hey,… Kurusu-san. What a coincidence to meet you here.”

“Yes, I guess so. I’m happy for you, but… what are you in a hurry for?”

“I-I’m not in a hurry.”

“…Something is suspicious.”

Kurusu-san suddenly got close to me and started to sniff me.

“… Smells like a woman.”

Aren’t you too sharp!

But how should I reply?

If I make a lame excuse here, I’ll be afraid of being found out.

Should I just pretend that I don’t know?

“Shoryu-kun…?”

As I was thinking this, I heard a familiar voice once again.

When I turned around fearfully, I saw Sarasa-san’s figure there.

Before I could ask why she was here, my mind was filled with despair.

I’m done for…
