Sleep At My Place (2)

He lowered his thin eyelids, hiding most of the brilliance in his pair of phoenix eyes. After that, he extended his hand and picked up the several finished drafts on Ruan Qingmu’s desk.

“The handwriting is terrible.” He softly said, “The people in the broadcast station will never be able to read this!”

Ruan Qingmu reached out to snatch it back. His expression was fierce and cold. “Naturally, someone will transcribe it for me.”

“Who? That publicity representative or your class monitor?” Qin Yuan raised his arm high and avoided Ruan Qingmu’s hands, which were reaching out to snatch the papers from him.

Ruan Qingmu jumped up suddenly, tackled, and pinned him down. “Why do you care?!”

The midsummer had just passed and the early autumn hadn’t arrived yet. The boys at the high school had good resistance to the cold and they still wore their summer tank tops and loose short pants as before. When they were wrestling together like this, their naked arms were close together and their skin was on fire.

Qin Yuan silently looked at the close pair of black pupils, his breathing slowly became a bit rough.

In the dead of night, they were so close that they seemed to feel their breath on each other’s faces. It was soft and carried a refreshing sweetness.

It was as if they were afraid to startle each other.

Looking at Ruan Qingmu’s eyelashes that fluttered rapidly, Qin Yuan suddenly turned his head. His voice was slightly husky as he said, “You don’t need them. I’ll help you to transcribe.”

He stood up, opened his cabinet, and took out a thin laptop.

“You can write your thing and I’ll help you to type it out.” He turned on his laptop. “At that time, hand the printed drafts to the broadcast station. The probability of being selected will be a bit better too now that you’re turning in typed pages.”

Ruan Qingmu blankly stared at him. “How can you hide something like this in the dorm?”

The school didn’t allow students to bring laptops to prevent them from playing large-scale games. When they checked their dorm rooms, there was no way something big like this would be concealed from the school.

“Who hides it? The teacher in the computer practice class helped me get it. I’m participating in the computer programming competition next semester.” Qin Yuan looked at the battery level. “It’ll be no problem to type several documents with such low battery life though.”

Ruan Qingmu hesitated for a while. “You better go to sleep. It’s nearly midnight.”

Qin Yuan didn’t bother to say anything else. He picked up the manuscript by himself and began to tap on the keyboard skillfully.

After typing for a while, he stopped and looked at Ruan Qingmu.

“You…” He wanted to say something but hesitated. “Aren’t you a little too shameless?”

Ruan Qingmu peeked over and looked at that draft sheet, nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders. “Mm, I vomited twice while I wrote it.”

Qin Yuan sighed. “This is the first time I saw someone write about himself like this.”

“You need to bear with it. I still have to produce a page in a moment, writing about my dashing figure on the 1500 meters racetrack.”

Qin Yuan’s fingers froze and he was slightly stunned. “Are you going to run the 1500 meters too?”

Ruan Qingmu opened his mouth wide and yawned twice. The rims of his eyes were slightly red due to sleepiness. “The name list had been handed over, so I’m not afraid to tell you – I signed up for four categories: 100 meters, 400 meters hurdle, high jump, and 1500 meters.”

After thinking for a while, he raised his brows. “What do you ask? Did you sign up for the 1500 meters too?”

Qin Yuan deeply looked at him, a sharp light softly flashing through his eyes. “Yes, ah. See you on the racetrack.”

Ruan Qingmu stared at him and suddenly let out a soft snort. He buried his head and swiftly wielded his pen as if he was lit by the fire of inspiration. Before long, he tore another page from the homework book and handed it to Qin Yuan.

“May I ask this humble noble to help me type this part out? Thank you.”

Qin Yuan lowered his head and looked at the title of the publicity draft. “…”

<<Happy to see Class 9 won the gold medal again, another victory report coming from the field again! – A small record of the exciting moment in the 1500 meters track>>

Qin Yuan took a deep breath, his teeth suddenly feeling slightly itchy. “Let’s make a bet. If I win first place, give this draft to my class to use for free.”

Ruan Qingmu looked at him with a smile, his slightly sharp chin nodding arrogantly. “Granted.”

In the quiet of the night, the time on the laptop showed that it was already 2:30 in the morning.

Ruan Qingmu’s head sank little by little and finally hit the desk with a loud thud!

His head slightly hurt, but his sleepiness was too strong, so he grunted and slumped on the table again.

There was a rustle around him as if someone had climbed into bed and gone down again.

A clear and slightly magnetic voice softly said in his ear, “Go to sleep. Your bed has already been made.”

Ruan Qingmu struggled to lift his head, forgetting where he was for a moment. He climbed up the small ladder he was so used to climbing and went to bed in a daze, laying down and falling asleep immediately.

Qin Yuan stood at the bottom of the bed ladder, stretched out his hand, and protected him until he safely climbed to the bed before returning to the desk and sitting down again.

He reached out and dimmed the light of the small desk lamp a little more, the small circle of light shining straight down on the keyboard of his laptop.

His slender fingers jumped around the keyboard and lines of characters swiftly flashed on the screen.
