5 Accidental Meeting

To put it in detail.

Equipment menu has two sub-menu inside it's directory. The first interface is player equipment and the second one is storage. The player equipment interface allow the player to mantle or dismantle any equipment he deem needed or no longer useful. The interface has an outline of human figure on its left side while surrounded by 10 type of box: Main hand, off hand, head, body, bottom, foot, necklace, ring 1, ring 2, and extra.

Main hand is the primary hand you use to hold a weapon and off hand is to hold the other weapon or supporting equipment. If you are a left-handed person, the box position will be switched. A weapon that required both hands to hold will automatically disable the off hand, unless you use a specific mean, this is unchangeable. If you use a bow type weapon, whether it was long or short, the off hand box will be replace by arrow instead. Your off hand cannot equip the same type weapon with your main hand, it only allow a weapon with a smaller scale or defensive type of equipment. For example: If you have long sword as main hand, you can only equip short sword, a knife, or shield in your off-hand. This without mean is unchangeable unless you have a special mean.

Head is where you can equip a helmet, hat, cap, ribbon, bandana, or other thing. Mask, ears piece, and eyeglasses still considered as head equipment unless you buy an expansion pack from the

Body is where you can put on armor or cuirass, you can wear different and more specific body part such as shoulder pads, breast plate, forearm protector, gloves, and elbow guards if you buy an expansion pack at

Bottom and foot is where you can place their respective type of armor.

Necklace mean anything that you can wore on your neck: An amulet, muffler, neck band, cat bell, etc, etc.

Extra is mean for any miscellaneous unique item like wings, tails, even pets. You are currently can only equip one extra, buy an expansion pack from the if you want to equip more.

Fujimura crossed his hands in front of his chest while he read the explanation from the interface, inside the box of his main hand, it held an object similar to the iron sword on the top of other table beside his. He tapped the box with his forehand and three option manifested.

He touched the

Name: Iron Sword

Type: Long sword

Range: Short

Special effect: None

Requirement: None

Material: Iron

Grade: Common

Description: A sword made of iron that usually a weapon of an infantry or squire. Very cheap.

He patted the term that grew his curiosity. is a hidden power that carried by certain weapon, for example: Flametongue has fire element effect and frostbite has ice element effect. There is also Balmung, which has the power of dragon slayer or Yamato, a sword that has space tearing power. is term for necessary qualification to wield the weapon, armor, shield, accessory, or other thing, there two types of requirement, first is attribute and the second is occupation. As the example for attributes is STR, END, etc, etc. Occupation is more like a class or job in the RPG or MMORPG world such as Knight, Monk, Mage, etc, etc.

Material is classified into five types: Iron, Steel, Gold, Mythril and Star.

Grade also classified into five categories: Common, Rare, Mysterious, Unique, and Legendary.

Both Material and Grade had relation with each other, but mostly is material leaning toward grade, not the other way around since there is no Mysterious, Unique, or legendary weapon made of Iron or steel material.

Fujimura moved into the second interface which is an interface of storage, it consisted of a list of equipment he already had which is actually just the iron sword and...

Huh?

He raised his eyebrows and mouth went agape for a moment, What the hell is this?

He pushed out one finger and tapped the item but no respond whatsoever, he tried to touch the iron sword's name and it popped out the previous three option.

His eyes soon turned into confusion, Is it possible this item is a bug? Or something he truly had but unable to use? If it was the first one then this system is truly crappy, bug in a video game is actually normal, after all, is human who made them, they will never cease to make mistake as they not a godly being. But this is system... a being resembled an AI, perhaps surpass an AI, but it still make a mistake like this? Yeah sure, it not god either, but seriously thought, what kind of system in a fiction story ever made a blunder? Unless the author is high and drunk when writing it then there will be no error made by those system.

Then again if this is not a bug, but the later case instead, he couldn't help but a bit feeling curious and excited at the same time, after all, there is a possibility that he unable to use it now because it was immensely strong or devastating, thus it remained blank like this.

Well, he sure it was the later case since he just unable to imagine a system made a blunder like this.

Fujimaru closed the equipment interface and went into the skill directory. it also had two tabs which is Player skill and another storage.

In the Player skill field, there were many section which separated in column: Weapon skill, Streak skill, Combo skill, Pet skill, Gauge skill, Affiliation skill, and Limit skill.

Weapon skill -> a skill you can equip into the weapon you currently use. It had variety requirement to wear and lot's of way to trigger it. The slot of the weapon skill depended on the material and grade of the weapon or shield you wear, the higher they are, the more you can equip a skill. Current skill you use

Streak skill -> a skill you can activate after you reach a certain point at your streak, this is different from a weapon skill that required the streak to accumulate at some number. Also you can change what type of streak you want to use based on your whim. Current streak you use is

Combo Skill ->skill that will activate along with the growth of your combo level, it stop when you reached max level. Combo bar's filling is related to the streak you currently use. Current skill you use

Pet Skill - > a skill or skills you pet have if you ever equip one.

Gauge skill - > A gauge that you can spent in accordance with the activation of certain skill (Including weapon skill), since you have no skill that needed gauge, thus it's not appear yet. there were only 3 bar gauge you can only have.

Affiliation skill - > Skill you can have based on your relationship with party member, the deeper your connections with them, the more skill you can unlock, you currently can only use one AS.

Limit Skill - > A very powerful skill, but with a great cost.

Fujimaru almost cringed badly as he read the Affiliation Skill, this is practically forcing him to be nice with those pip squeak. Is not that he was having any trouble in making friend, it just plain annoying if he had to fake a smile or pretend interested at the topic they talked about all the time.

Now the world had sank into madness, people had been eating other people, both in literal and figurative meaning, but this system told him to bond with people instead?!

Well screw you system, I am not interested!

Fujimura sneered, It's not like that those Affliction skill could be particularly strong, right?

Now regarding pet, so long it wasn't bird, then he had no qualms about it. Also this explanation... wasn't it to vague and simple? Like what cost he needes to pay if he had one? It really didn't even bother to elaborate.

So annoying...

He went into the storage and find two skill with exclamation mark on its name.

As your combo level up, your prowess on dealing damage to your enemy increase.

Every 7 streak and its multiple, you can activate this skill to make your weapon swing an arc from afar and struck your enemy through the air. If you had multiple skill equip together, you can't activate this skill at the same time with other or after you use other skill while this skill available.

Fujimura patted the floor with his sole, his face expressed a serious countenance while he read on the info.

This two skill is actually very good and effective, both could benefit each other, with a boost attack he could increase the damage output for which is clearly a helpful one since he can strike to kill from several distance away. Although the attribute boost is nice too, but truth to be told, it didn't raise his perimeter that much. is strong but its lack of distance making it the same with another normal attack, perhaps it did increase the attack, but with his normal slash could be as strong as the skill.

Without thinking much further, Fujimura touched the skills and the three previous same option popped out, he quickly pressed the option.

Settling with the skill, he checked the learning menu, quick it exposed the content inside.

50 SP

100 SP

20 SP

30 SP

SP is the abbreviations of Skill Point which you can gain through various mean. The most easiest way is to buy it from the . The skill that had been listed is the result of your learning from various weapon, combo, affiliation, and other things. You can use them so long you equip their corresponding source but if you change the weapon or streak, you no longer can use them unless you already unlock it by using the Skill Point.

On the other tab there were also an information of what skill he could get from the equipment and streak.

1. Vertical Slash (!)

2. Air slash (!)

1. Attribute boost (!)

2. Attack boost (!)

3. Speed boost (?)

4. *** (?)

Vertical Slash ~> unlocked after your streak reach 5

Air slash ~> unlocked after your streak reach 40

Attribute boost ~> unlocked after your combo level reached 2

Attack Boost ~> unlocked after your combo level reached 5

Speed Boost ~> unlocked after your combo level reached 10

*** ~> you needed to unlock its predecessor skill first.

Fujimura frowned as he found it quite retarded that he couldn't use the skill with other equipment unless he already bought it. That also mean he needed to start all over to if he wants to use skill or he had to spent quite sometimes with one equipment before he could manage to use other.

He looked at the skill point and twitched his lips in annoyance.

Skill Point: 10

Despite he had killed more than fifty Zombies but the Skill Point remained only that much, this brought a lot of questions since he unable to conclude how he gain the skill point, Is it every five kill mean 1 Point or combo level grant him 2 Point for each level?

He quickly sighed since he couldn't do much but make an experiment to figure it out.

He closed the Learn interface and proceeded to craft.

Compounding

Engineering

Smithery

Crafting

Cooking

Witchcraft

Alchemy

Breeding

In spite of his sky rocketed urge to know what all of this sub menu of craft mean, but every single of them is actually pale colored, when he tried to tap on them, it only says, "You don't have the necessary ability."

Fujimura sighed, he did understand some of the term such as Smithery probably craft a weapon and witchcraft probably allowed him create something magic.

But the lack to be able to do anything was greatly irritate him.

"Well, is still early, I guess it's understandable."

He stretched as he stood from the desk and closed the menu since he had finished checking all of them except the last two. Immediately Fujimura felt his body grew tired more than usually, this give him the conclusion that although he had been in long time interacted with the menu, his stamina seemed not restoring, that mean the menu time freezing function is useless for him to take the advantage as a cheap way to get some rest.

Moreover since he no longer used the his stats basically returned to normal.

He looked at his combo bar and streak, and his eyes became red all the sudden.

His level returned to 1! The combo bar was depleted!

His kill streak also turned to 0!

What the fuck?!

He rose his glasses and scrubbed his eyes, he looked again but it was indeed reality is a bitch.

What's happening?!

He certainly had not mistaken seeing his combo level and streak remained the same after the first time he opened the menu. Then how come they are gone now?

Wait, perhaps this had anything to do with him equipping new skill?

It's understandable if everything is resetting as he changed his style, but what made him angrier is that the system did not even warn him whatsoever about this circumstance, at least gave him a warning before he did the action or a confirmation message to tell him about this.

Hah, what could he do anyway...

In the end Fujimura could only exhale a mouthful of air in weariness. This system is a blessing while a curse at the same time. How many occasion he had been infuriated by this cold shoulder temperament system? Hello system? Are you awake? Did you even exist?

He cracked his neck then grabbed the iron sword, the school area had been long devoid from any commotion, he didn't hear a single wept or moan, nor scream or depressing mumble.

He walked into the hall, only the remaining of the students that existed on his left and right, there are one that still intact... one only body left... one without arm... one without leg.

He strolled among the corpse yet no cower visage manifested on his face. He treated the victim as if they are a rubble on the street, abandoned and left alone.

He knew soon they will raise again, not the 'raise-upon-entering-the-heaven' kind of thing, but walk again on this Earth. The zombie virus or curse or whatever it was perhaps now pumping through their vein, invaded every part of their muscle and on board to stimulate their brain impulse thus the reanimation process was happening. Walking alone on this path, it's lonely but he no hate it. It's lonesome but joyful trip for him. No hustle bustle of disgusting giggle, no irritating shout glamouring his name.

For the first time in his life, Fujimura didn't feel hate for life.

The only main concern for him now is Saeko. He knew she was strong and fierce kendoist but even he had doubt she could survive a bunch of horde zombie invasion. Perhaps he would find her corpse along the way? Or perhaps she had been reanimated?

As he progressed through the hallway, by passing each classroom on his right side, he eventually met with zombies, two or three of them, either wobbly loitered around or feasting upon a fresh meat.

Man, this lowly creature just like a hobo, no home to arrive, no food to dine.

Fujimura swung his sword and granted them a mercy from living such a life, earning them the eternal peace that everyone always sought.

On this journey of him, there is nothing but more killing and killing.

(***)

Tagaki Saya is never feel this kind of fear before, she always been a stuck up girl and assumed a strong appearance but when a real danger came, her true self which a fragile and weak girl spurted out.

She quickly feel onto her back and smashed the trophy cupboard behind while a myth like creature that had the tendency of cannibalism slouched it way toward her.

While the useless fatty beside her had run out of his ammo, she couldn't do nothing but telling the creature to back the hell off.

"No... don't come closer... go away..."

But of course, the zombie is like a hateful ex-boyfriend who didn't know when to quit. it just, without care of its target feeling, walking forward with a lazy steps.

Takagi Saya became much more terrified, her face already twisted in fear and anger, in a panic, she grabbed the trophies behind her and started throwing them at the zombie.

"Go away! Shoo!"

What the hell she think a zombie is? A puppy? A cat?

Albeit her sucker aim, one trophy managed to hit the zombie but it instantly broke to pieces while the zombie seemed unaffected.

Damn, this is illogical, a zombie should be weak and easy to kill, but why it's so god damn sturdy?!

Knowing her attempt bore no fruit, she tried to find a weapon that strong enough to kill it, she wouldn't just let it having its way with her juicy body, she wouldn't powerlessly getting mangled by its rotten teeth.

Her face turned right and left, then she caught a glimpse of a thing that she could use as a weapon.

It's a drill, a battery powered drill, it is quite sharp to pierce through a thick wooden block, even concrete cement. It should be enough to stab this creature to dead.

But a hesitation flashed inside her heart, she never kill before even a bug, can she actually do this?

At this moment, the zombie had reached several inches away from her, it opened wide its mouth, readied to take a chunk of a fresh meat of her.

"NOOOO!!!!"

In spite of moment, she took out the drill and stood up, aimed the pointed part toward the zombie's mouth and she punctured it forward.

*Bzzzzz!*

Blood and meat shredded, tainted every where around it and her figure. She tilted her head to the side, tears came out from the corner of her eyes and her nose crinkled in disgust.

"I don't want do to this! I want my mom!!!" she said while pushing the drill deeper into the head of the zombie.

The loud buzzed of the drill and her shout managed to gather a lot of attention from other undead around, but dozen of steps immediately rang on the hallway and soon body per body fell onto the floor.

She couldn't care more about what happen around, the only thought she bore now is how disgusting the creature's remain that stuck onto her and a desperation to keep her own life. After several moment later, the zombie finally left the world for good and it laid without power beside her. She gasped for so many breath before stared at the result of her work in daze. The zombie head had been separated into two in a gruesome way, one can see its bottom teeth and skull had been exposed to the air while it had missing a small part of its head.

Such a view usually enough to churn someone stomach but her traumatize experience bind her to let out any sort of respond. Nothing but staring in silent.

Then she could feel a soft hand touched her shoulder, "Takagi, are you OK?"

She sensed the familiarity tone inside this voice, it wasn't long before she figured it out, "Miyamoto..."

She spoke without turned her face away from the body.

"I assume you all know our school nurse, Dr. Marikawa, right? My name is Busujima Saeko, from 3-A," a woman with slender appearance and dark violet hair initiated the conversation.

"I am Komuro Takashi, 2-B," the man with black hair responded to her after closing the school's gate.

"Ah, are you that Busujima-senpai that won last year kendo championship?! It's good to meet you, I am Miyamoto Rei, I am in Sojutsu Club (Spear)!" the girl with brown hair beamed.

"I uh, Hirano Kohta, 2-B," another boy with also black hair rubbed the back of his head, his glasses reflected by the strong ambience of the sunlight.

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you," Saeko gently smiled.

Saya twitched her eyes in annoyance and greeted her teeth.

How come they act casually like that after killing a bunch of them?!

Are they feel nothing?

Or because they are strong thus they can just shrug it off?

Am I... am I weak? Am I pathetic?

Yes, they must be thinking I am sad, a pathetic sore loser.

Can't do anything but talking out loud.

She clenched her hand, "I... am not... weak..."

They all noticed her strange words, all attention had been reserved for her.

She stood up, slowly turned her body to face them," Don't you dare mocking me..."

Rei raised her fist and pasted it on her lips, her face expressed a genuine concern, "Saya, no one..."

"Shut up!" she spoke hurriedly, her body shivered all over, "I... I can do it too... so long I strive for it... I can do anything I want..."

"Don't you mock me, don't look at me with those pity in your eyes," she slowly took steps back. Retreated into the empty hall behind her.

Everyone froze on their spot, none of what she said is true but they somehow unable to convey it through any words.

Only the blonde buxom woman that gently approached her, true to her profession as nurse, she as if had no qualms on dealing with such circumstances, her countenance is calm, she lift her hand and grasped Saya's

"Sssh... it's fine, I know it's hard, but you have done your best, Saya-chan is brave, you are just as strong as any of them..."

She pulled the teen into her gigantic twin peak and brushed the teen's pink hair gently. Like a mother nursing her child.

Saya widened her eyes before tears poured out from her eyes, she pasted her face deeply into her bosom and wept continously.

Everyone let out a relieve breath, Takagi and Saeko smiled into each other before Kohta suddenly roared, "Marikawa sensei, watch out!"

Everyone startled, Marikawa Shizuka opened her eyes and caught a zombie already put its face closed to her hand that stayed on Saya's hand.

It was so fast that neither of them nor Shizuka had any chance to respond, only an unfortunate event that arrogantly will stomp upon her fate and dragged her into community of the dead.

*Puchi!*

Time progressed, but the zombie no longer moved its mouth, it just stood there in froze akin to a human size statue.

Slowly but surely, a straight line manifested, from the left side of its face onward to the right side of its face.

Then it separated, droplets of blood lingeres in the air between the gapped of its head, soon everyone can see a figure behind the zombie through the crevice.

A pair of glasses and blue hair.

Unlike Kohta who somehow appeared a bit nerd and awkward person

This guy, is extremely calm and his expression is the embodiment of cold.

Among the people inside this hall, only Saeko that widened her eyes, there are joy and relief painted that purple iris of her.

"Fujimura..."
