4 Every game has menu, right?

Fujimura didn't immediately use the iron sword to kill the first zombie, instead he kicked it first.

The zombie stumbled backward and clashed with another zombie behind it, both fell onto the floor, toppled one another.

He sprang forward, lashing his sword to stab both zombies head, killing them instantly.

His level raised into level 2 again, and he could feel his body getting stronger once more.

He went into the rest of the two zombies and killed them easily, earning him two kill streak without much effort.

He observed the 'dead' bodies of the dead, thinking this bunch of miserable folk once is a normal living people, now had been degraded into such mindless creature.

He helplessly smiled then strolling toward the hallway outside the classroom.

There were five more zombies lingered on his right, excluding the reanimated classmates of his, he approached them, he didn't even bother being stealthy.

The group of undead noticed a fresh meat just delivered himself into their location. They immediately canceled their dazed countenance and marched toward Fujimura.

The blue haired man sneered, these bunch of low creatures must have been think he is an easy target. Soon, the man and the deads only separated by a couple distances away. The foremost zombie lunged at him, Fujimura raised the iron sword and slashed its head, the blood splat like a crumbling egg spilled its inside. He swayed to the side to avoid the zombie's body crashed against him. Two zombies swarmed from his front and right, he stabbed the one in front on its head, quickly pulled out and swiped the iron sword's blade into the one on his right.

4... 5... 6...

One by one killed without sort of any difficulty, even when he faced the one used to be his classmates, there is nothing that holding him back from swinging his sword to mince them all. He felt no sorrow, or sadness. Every time he swung his sword, there were only excitement and enthusiasm. He quickly reduced the poor soulless bodies into many headless body. Luckily, they are not the headless knight from the legend, or he definitely had the trouble on killing them.

This time, aside from the feeling of becoming more powerful, there is no more other benefit he received. Perhaps is not on every level up that he could gain other bonuses.

What a bothersome.

"Vertical slash," the iron sword reacted at his cue, it went over the head of the zombie and swiftly went down, cutting it into two pieces of organ.

There was a number '11' that attached to the right corner of his eyes, previously he tried to hold up not using the skill immediately after his kill streak had shown its flashy color at the number '5', he wanted to test whether he could stack the skill and unleashed it two times when he had 10 kill streak, but it turned out a failure. He did feel the become a bit powerful, but he still can only use it once then the number's color returned to white.

Seeing the hallway had been cleared, Fujimura inspected each classroom to seek for any more undead, but everything's clear.

Without wanted to waste any more time since his combo bar already started declining, he dashed toward the stairs and luckily found two zombies busied themselves eating a student.

In Fujimi Highschool, there were three stairs locations, one in the middle of the building, and two at right and left side. There was also an another stairs beyond the emergency escape door but most of the time it was forbidden to be use by the students.

Fujimura only down three steps then he jumped from the high, landed precisely at the back of one zombie, then before the other one managed to detect an arrival of a fresh meat, he already swung the iron sword.

After killing the zombie underneath his feet, he raised and get off from its back, he glanced at the corpse of his classmates, pondered whether he should kill him now or not.

He wondered if he kill this dead sod, his killing streak would get increased or not.

Meh, there is no harm in trying.

The dead student before him called Hamura Hideki, he met him once a while in the hallway, the guy could be said a bit popular and actually had a lot of friends.

Now, this guy, he just laid in here, alone and abandoned, helplessly letting his body became the nutrients for the dead.

"Sorry, Hideki-san"

"It's not that I had any ill will toward you..."

"It just... that's how a life is..."

He brought forward his sword and stabbed the poor guy's head. Embedded the silver edge deeply inside his stem.

"..."

Nothing.

Neither his orange bar or the kill streak count had been increased, everything remained the same.

Huh, is it possible that it only increased if I kill zombie? Or because he is neither human nor zombie yet thus I gain nothing?

Strange... I needed more experiment.

Since Hamura Hideki's body provided him with no more usability, he had no interest with him and quickly ditched it.

He climbed down the school's stairs and went into the second floor.

What greeted his eyes was more gruesome than the one in third level, it's messy and horrible, blood literally anywhere, from the floor even to the ceiling, this is like a slaughter house.

Many students who became the victim of the grey skinned creature already crossed over from this world, no longer around with any of us, the one that still alive could only cried and stared at his or her side while their flesh had being consumed.

Fujimura quickly approached the closer one to him, which is two zombies that hovered above one male student, he had a bald head, shiny without hair at all.

He practically a smooth pig.

He stabbed the zombies head easily, and stayed beside the baldy dude, because albeit he was being eaten like that, he admirably still alive.

"Help... help... me..." he said roughly between the painful pant and groan breath.

Fujimura stared at him with emotionless visage, then he forced a smile while pointing his sword above his head, "Sorry, you know what happen to those who got bitten, much less the one like you who had his skin already severely being eaten."

" No... no... I am still alive... I am not turning into them... I am still alive... please... just... get me... a medicine... then I'll be fine..." his eyes stared at him with horror.

There was no answer from Fujimura, in fact, he actually didn't know how the infection progressing, he just made an assumption based on the calculation of this epidemic spreading's rate and a lot of pop culture reference.

He didn't want to do anything to save him, what he wanted is to test whether killing human also increased his bar and kill count, or not.

"Cough!" the baldy spewed a mouthful of blood.

Fujimura knew his time is tight, thus he quickly spoke, "What's your name?"

"To.. shiki..." he said while his eyes slowly lost their lights.

"Alright Toshiki, I will remember your name, therefore..." he squinted his eyes, "rest in peace."

*Puchi!*

(***)

After he sent away the baldy toward the underworld, Fujimura checked upon his orange bar and kill count, his expression soon turned in delight.

The orange bar increased a bit while his kill count turned from 15 to 16.

That means his kill wasn't only limited to zombie but also human, perhaps other creature also. He didn't know precisely what the perimeter of this kill streak of him, what he killed is basically still a living creature, but what if he killed a plant? or a robot? perhaps a skeleton?

Can be that considered as killing too?

Oh damn this whoever give him the system, he or she didn't bother explain anything.

"Urgh..."

Suddenly a moan sound came from beside him, the voice appeared very close, Fujimura took a step to his left side and used the to cut half the zombie.

He glanced to his right and found many zombies started their siege upon where he stood.

Such a sum, most people enough to shiver in fear and lost the power in their legs, Fujimura also shivered... but it's not fear.

His blood strongly pumping in his vein, his eyes saw nothing but bunch of moving dummies he needed to wreck.

He pointed the iron sword toward the crowd, a high slope on his lips marked the arrogant smirk he presented for them.

"Sa, Game Wa Hajime."

Using the benefit from the enchanted attribute he received after his combo level up, he sprang toward the crowd, swiftly slashed the first zombie that entered his range, he easily dodged an incoming attack and stabbed one zombie through its chin, he grabbed that zombie shirt and use its no longer alive body as a shield to hold up other zombie on his left side while he hacked the line on his right side. When they cramped too much, he will retreat one step in order not letting any of them broke through from the line and sneakily attacked him from behind.

His kill count had been increased without a slight interval, it's like watching a rushing car on the empty path.

It sped up without limit.

His orange bar made its way toward the rightmost limit in a fast manner, although he is not quickly reached another level unlike the first two one, but he still managed to break through the level 4.

Soon his kill reached the number 40, and it shone brightly!

Along with the explosion of orange baloon within the vicinity of his vision!

"Warning! Warning! You already equipped a Combo skill, the newly gained skill will automatically send to your storage!"

"Warning! Warning! You already equipped a weapon skill, the newly gained skill will automatically send to your storage!"

"Son of a!" two red line that glowed with its blinding crimson tone quickly blocked his vision and almost costed him his own life, he luckily still managed to dodge in the nick time of that zombie fierce biting or he might get the infection.

He bent low his body, and he cut its two pair of a slender legs in a clean sweep. As the body dropped down on the ground, he raised his own body and stomped hard on its head. Thanks to the boost attribute from the combo level, the power of his stomp enough to make a dent on its head.

He proceeded forward and killed the only two left zombies.

Wiping his sweat with the uniform sleeve, Fujimura pondered what's the previous red sentence is all about, the two red warning already subsidies thus he had to squinted his eyes to read it.

"Storage?"

His eyes widened in amazement, he also had sort of thing? An inventory like function where he can store anything without the use of bag? Well that certainly handy.

But there is a small problem, how the hell he can call it out?

"Inventory!" he bellowed.

"...." nothing appeared.

"Bag!"

"Storage!"

"Pocket!"

"Warehouse!"

"Item!"

"..." all nothing but a draft of wind and painful scent of rotten meat.

Fujimura face certainly darkened, he had read multiple novel and manga in regard of system kind of thing, most of them is kind and responsive. Guiding the hand of the MC in the most perverted way, saving the mc life in the nick of time, thus the unlimited plot-armor work began.

But this previous green icon suddenly went somewhere without giving him any explanation or telling him any helpful description. It just force him to figure it out everything by himself.

If this system is a zombie, perhaps he already hacked it into thousands of pieces.

Depressed at the numerous words he spoke yield nothing, Fujimura carelessly said, "Menu."

*Zing!*

As if open some pinata full of candies, his vision immediately flooded by seven bullet of words encapsulated in a parallelogram box, those words are:

1. Info

2. Equipment

3. Skill

4. Learn

5. Craft

6. Mall

7. Mercenary

Out of seven menus presented for him, only Mall and Mercenary that had a blurry appearance, the rest were glittering in a golden sparkle.

Fujimura widened his eyes, he couldn't believe the word he spoke without thinking actually is the key to opened the interface.

Moreover, the last two menu option made him wrinkled his eyebrows: Mall and Mercenary?

Anyone who ever play an on-line gaming will know that Mall is usually a feature that allowed a player to buy many game exclusive item, most of the time, they required an involvement of real money, whether it was direct or indirect.

Is it possible that he could buy strange item or other thing from the Mall?

Mercenary is a foreign thing he ever saw in a game, albeit his knowledge in video game is few but he knew such a thing is not common.

Mercenary mostly related to a hiring personnel, right? Kind of outsourcing employee if he connected it in a businesses term.

Who or what he possibly could hire within the system?

Sadly, although he was interested in testing the Mall and Mercenary feature but both of them as if currently unable to be access, thus he could only test other that supercial or common menu in most of the game.

First he check info, quick a lot of information being displayed on the surface of one page.

There was even a hexagon that showed a graph of his attributes. He moved his finger and tried to tap every line, started from the top.

Fujimura twitched his eyes and lips at the lazy explanation within the Innate context, seriously what can you get from such a simple words.

He looked at the top part of the page, there were several tabs that toppled one another. The page that held his information is number 1, and from that followed number 2, 3, 4 until 6.

He pressed the number 2 and wrinkled his eyebrows at the words that appeared.

Party member? Did you mean those band of misfit people who followed the real hero to anywhere all the time? Or a noob who leeched on the strong player in an online game?

Pfft, as if he need such a bothersome people.

But in the other hand, how he got any party member anyway? Maybe this was related with the mercenary function.

Mercenary was different, they were hired not to become a burden, and if they are incompetent, he can simply just fired them, right?

Heh, perhaps the party member thing is not so bad after all.

Since no other thing he could do with the info tab, he quickly closed it. He pondered whether he should continued checking on the other function but he remembered his Combo level could be level down at anytime and he strangely unable to see it now as he opened the menu, even his kill streak is gone.

He closed the menu, and soon, he widened his eyes to the limit.

Not from horror, or disappointment.

Not annoyance and anger.

But joy and glee!

Because his combo level gauge didn't decrease at all! His kill streak also remained in 43!

Did the time froze while he was browsing the menu?

This is simply amazing! Thank god, although the system is cold as hell, but every other thing is perfect and nice!

Fujimura couldn't help but wanted to laugh louder, now since the time is no longer part of his concern, he opened up the menu interface once again.
