22 Too many slimes!

'Should I even kill them? They are way under my level and they aren't bosses or elites, but normal monsters. And so, they will give me very little XP. But they will be gone and they won't be able to kill any NPCs that might pass through this area. But can they even kill anything? They are just slimes…' I thought to myself while looking at one of the many blue slimes before looking over at Faylen.

'They might give me too little XP, but not to her,' I thought to myself. Then, I unsheathed both Hjordis and goblin heavy sword and pointed Hjordis at one of the slimes. "Faylen, attack that slime and don't worry, I will protect you from its attacks."

"Okay, big sister Astrid," Faylen said. She extended her right arm towards the slime at which I pointed, opened her palm and began speaking the words which I couldn't begin to understand.

I lowered Hjordis and waited for her to finish the spell.

Three seconds passed and a ball of arcane energy flew out of Faylen's palm and towards the slime. It collided with it and it splashed in every possible direction. The slime was dead just like that and a notification message flashed in front of me.

"I did it, big sister Astrid!" Faylen shouted out and I looked at her. She wore an excited expression on her beautiful face.

I sheathed goblin heavy sword and patted her snow-white head with my right hand as I said, "Good job."

Faylen giggled.

I pointed Hjordis at another slime. "Kill that one next."

"Okay, big sister Astrid," Faylen said and nodded her head. She extended her right arm towards the slime at which I pointed and opened her palm. But unlike the last time when she spoke out words for three whole seconds, this time she didn't speak out a single word and a small bolt of arcane energy flew out of her palm. It collided with the slime and it splashed in every possible direction

"I did it again, big sister Astrid!"

I looked at Faylen and I once again saw an excited expression on her beautiful face. I lowered Hjordis and patted her snow-white head as I said, "Good job."

Faylen giggled this time as well.

I pointed Hjordis at another slime. "That one next."

"I can't, big sister Astrid. I don't have any magic left."

'She must mean that she is out of mana," I thought to myself and used my skill, >. Hjordis got enveloped in a bright golden glow and then a blast shout of it and towards the slime. Then, I lowered Hjordis.

I looked at Faylen. "I will start killing these slimes now and you join in whenever you have enough mana. But while you wait for your mana to recover, loot the dead slimes."

"Mana?" Faylen said as she tilted her head slightly to the right.

"You are out of mana not magic."

Faylen nodded her head. "Okay, big sister Astrid."

I looked away from Faylen and looked at one of the many slimes. I extended Hjordis towards it and used my skill, >.

Together, we killed and looted all the slimes that we could see which amounted to 52 slimes. From killing them, I didn't level up, but Faylen did. She levelled up 9 levels, going from > to >. And from looting them, I got 350 copper coins or 3 silver coins and 50 copper coins.

"I don't see any more slimes, big sister Astrid," Faylen said as she looked around our surroundings.

"Yeah, here there are no more slimes," I said and looked in the direction of the town of Knightglen. The town towards which I was heading before I saw Faylen for the first time and made that detour into the forest. Then, I looked at her.

"Let's go, Faylen."

Faylen looked at me. "Where are we going, big sister Astrid?" she said as she tilted her head slightly to the right.

"We are going to the human town – Knightglen."

"Human town?" Faylen said and deeply frowned. "Why are we going to one of their towns?" as she said, she emphasized the word – their. And that was for a good reason. It was because humans, elves, dwarves, vampires and werewolves were all at war with one another. I knew this because of one of the game's promotional videos and because when creating a character I first had to choose one of the five factions, which were humans, elves, dwarves, vampires and werewolves. After that, since I chose human faction, I had to choose in which country/empire I was born in: tiger country, dragon country or holy empire.

"We are going to Knightglen because it's the only place that I know the location of. But that's not the only reason. I was also hoping to find the map of the world or just the map of the tiger country in that town amongst other things."

Faylen slowly nodded her head before relaxing her face and saying, "Okay, big sister Astrid."

I looked in the direction of Knightglen and we departed. But not too long after, three slimes appeared in our path. We killed and looted them before continuing on.

Five days had passed during which we killed and looted 589 slimes. From killing them Faylen levelled up 8 levels going from > to > and I levelled up 43 levels with both of my classes, but not because of killing slimes, but because of my racial passive, > which gave me 1% of total experience every minute. From looting them, I got 8835 copper coins or 8 gold coins, 8 silver coins and 35 copper coins.

I suddenly heard a muffled scream and far into the distance I saw opened town gates. And between them and myself, I saw more than a few hundred slimes with human bones of both adults and children floating inside them.

A notification message flashed in front of me.

I stopped myself and put my right hand on Faylen's shoulder. Thus stopping her as well.

Faylen looked at me. "What's wrong, big sister Astrid?"

"Look what is between us and Knightglen and you will see. I have to prepare myself," I said. Then, I opened the menu and from it my character.
