280 Defusing The Bomb
“We have to leave now, or we won’t make it!” Colonel Su quickly realized the seriousness of the matter.
“Yes, the bomb is going to explode in about five minutes. We must leave this place before it explodes.” The explosives expert echoed.
“Let’s go!” Colonel Su pushed his team out of the door one by one. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly realized that Qiao Yue was still standing by the bed, trying to wake Jin Lu.
“Don’t touch her. You’ll be blown to pieces.”
Looking at the sleeping Jin Lu, Qiao Yue reached out to find the bomb.
The bomb was hidden in Jin Lu’s bra.

Qiao Yue gritted her teeth and tore apart Jin Lu’s dress. In the dark, she picked up the equipment that the explosives expert had put aside.

Qiao Jing stood next to Qiao Yue, showing no intention to leave.
“Why are members of the Qiao family so stubborn? I told you to leave. Didn’t you hear me?” Colonel Su stayed on to deal with the stubborn brother and sister after sending his team members away.
“Are you not afraid of death? You want to stay here with just five minutes on the clock? Even the elite Custodians would need half an hour to defuse this bomb. What makes you think that you can do it?”
“I believe in Qiao Yue.” Qiao Jing raised his head and looked at Colonel Su. “Colonel, why don’t you leave first? Your team still needs you. I’ll stay here with Qiao Yue.”
Qiao Yue was so focused on the bomb that she couldn’t hear anything else. She paid no attention to the conversation between Qiao Jing and Colonel Su.
“I’ll stay here and keep watch for you.” Colonel Su did not leave. Instead, he pointed his gun toward the door.
“Thank you,” Qiao Jing said to Colonel Su.
Qiao Yue had defused this kind of bomb before. She could find a way to reduce the bomb’s range of destruction, but she couldn’t stop it from exploding.
“Second brother, find the bathroom and fill it up with water,” Qiao Yue ordered.
Later, she would put the bomb in the water to reduce the impact of the explosion. This was the most effective method now.
Qiao Jing nodded and went to find the bathroom.
Qiao Yue squatted on the bed and worked skillfully.
Jin Lu was still in deep sleep and had no idea what was going on.
As time passed, the sound of the ticking time bomb seemed to be reminding them that time was running out and they must defuse it as soon as possible.
By the time Qiao Jing finished filling up the bath tub and sinks in the bathroom, Qiao Yue had already dismantled most of its parts.
“Hurry up! There’s only one minute left!” Colonel Su, who stood guarding the door, was a little nervous.
Qiao Yue was a little surprised. The Custodians’ combat skills were pretty impressive. They could still count time so skillfully while standing guard.
Qiao Yue pulled the bomb off Jin Lu and ran towards the bathroom.
The timer on the bomb showed only fifteen seconds.
Qiao Yue held her breath. Just as she was about to sprint to the bathroom, a figure suddenly flashed past her and rushed into the bathroom with a bomb at an even faster speed.
It was Qiao Jing!
“Second brother!” The moment Qiao Yue shouted, the bomb exploded in the water. Water splashed all over the bathroom floor and the curtains in the bathroom were set on fire.
Qiao Yue felt a little dizzy as she looked at the blaze. Nothing must happen to Qiao Jing!
Qiao Yue rushed into the bathroom and found Qiao Jing sitting on the floor. He had been blasted by the explosion but fortunately, it wasn’t a powerful blow. He only grazed his face and arms and was not injured anywhere else.
Qiao Yue was instantly relieved, and tears rolled down her face.
“I’m fine, Qiao Yue.” Qiao Jing held on to Qiao Yue as he pulled himself off the floor and wiped the tears off her face. “Let’s go. Colonel Su is still waiting for me.”
Colonel Su heaved a sigh of relief when he saw the two of them come out safely. “This Qiao family is too much. How could they let juniors like you risk your lives?”
The three of them relaxed. Qiao Yue scooped Jin Lu up and followed Colonel Su down.
Team members from The Custodians were already waiting for them on the tenth floor.
Qiao Yu was passed out, but he was fine under Ai Ye’s care. He just needed to rest for ten to fifteen days.
Oswald was also tied up and thrown to the side.
“The police are here. Our mission wasn’t complete, but we must go back and report.” Colonel Su said to the people around him.
