Chapter 93.2 – Moving With The Family

Lu Sheng had never been outside the city, nor had she seen a farmland before. This was another scenery that she had never seen before.

The little bun paused for a moment, then heard the clacking sounds of horse hooves. She looked for the source of that sound, and finally saw a familiar figure that could make her feel at ease. Not far behind the carriage, Lu Qipei and Qi Yang were riding on horseback.

Maybe they were tired of riding the carriage, maybe they saw the nice scenery outside, or they might have simply felt like riding a horse. The two had left the carriage and went out for a ride. Just looking at the two riding the same horse with such an intimate posture, you could tell that these two were as inseparable as always.

The people in the princess’s mansion didn’t seem to find this strange, but the little dumpling didn’t understand these things. When she saw the two of them, her panic finally disappeared.

She leaned out of the carriage’s window, her small head popping outside. She waved at the two of them and shouted, “Your Highness, Your Highness. Uncle, Uncle.’

The two who were frolicking in the distance immediately turned around and saw Lu Sheng behind them on the carriage’s window.

Lu Qipei rode over and asked her amusedly, “Is Ah Sheng finally awake?”

Lu Sheng gave her an obedient smile, but she was blinking her eyes, looking innocent and confused. It was Qi Yang who reminded her that they had promised last night to go out of the city to play at the hamlet.

Her original panic and fear completely disappeared, and the excitement from last night surged back to her heart. Especially when she saw the two of them riding a horse, her eyes were instantly filled with some anticipation.

Lu Qipei saw it, and so did Qi Yang. The child had most probably developed some interest in horseback riding, but the two were having a good atmosphere right now, and they didn’t want to turn their group of two into “a family of three”.

“Since Ah Sheng has woken up, stay obediently in the carriage. We will arrive soon.” Lu Qipei instructed solemnly, then silently clamped on the horse’s belly, making it kick its hooves and ride away with the two of them on its back.

Lu Sheng was too young to do anything, so in the end she could only hold the carriage’s window and watch the two of them go away.

Fortunately, the hamlet was not too far from the capital, and Lu Sheng had woken up late. After just half an hour, the carriage arrived at its destination. The farming village was much larger than when Qi Yang first got married – because the Lu family was not short of money, they gradually purchased all the surrounding fields and fruit farms over the past three years. By now, they had without a doubt gathered more than a few hundred mu of farmland and mountain forests.

Qi Yang and Lu Qipei’s arrival was already expected, and they had already greeted the hamlet’s steward earlier. As soon as the horse and carriage from the princess’s mansion arrived, a lot of people came to greet them.

They two came to play this time, not to inspect the farm, so they sent them off after a few words.

Lu Qipei got off the horse then helped Qi Yang down, then she turned around and went beside the carriage to pick Lu Sheng up. For a moment, she felt as if she was moving her with her whole family. It was an indescribable feeling, and she subconsciously pursed her lips and smiled.

Qi Yang saw it and asked her, “What’s the matter? Why are you smiling?”

Lu Qipei quickly shook her head and replied, “It’s nothing. I just suddenly felt a bit emotional at this scene.” She looked at Lu Sheng again and asked her with a smile, “Has Ah Sheng never seen such a landscape before? Many paths cross each other in the fields, and chickens and dogs can hear each other everywhere.”

Lu Sheng vaguely nodded, but her eyes were staring straight into the distance.

Lu Qipei and Qi Yang followed her gaze, only to see a group of children gathered in the distance to play. They didn’t know what they were playing, but the group of children were laughing, looking happy and lively.

Most children like to be lively and play with others. Lu Qipei and Qi Yang looked at each other, thinking it might be time to find Lu Sheng some playmates of the same age. However, coming out like today was a rare occasion. They had to return and discuss this matter back home.

Lu Qipei patted Lu Sheng’s back and turned to carry her into the hamlet behind them.

The farm was not far from the capital, but it took almost two hours to get there, and they left early in the morning, so they were rather tired. Lu Qipei and Qi Yang in particular had ridden a horse half the way here, and were also somewhat dusty.

So when they arrived there, they first went to the hamlet to wash up and rest. As for having fun picking the grapes, it would have to wait for later.

Seeing that Lu Qipei was interested in picking grapes, the servant in the hamlet took the initiative to say, “Milord, there are not only grapes in our hamlet. There are also plum trees in the forest mountain in the distance, and also a melon field nearby. Now is around the time when they bear fruit. The ones we have here are of excellent quality, if you are interested, you can go and have a look.”

Lu Qipei nodded casually when she heard the words, but Lu Sheng snapped out from her previous yearning for companions and became extremely curious about everything around her. She tugged at Lu Qipei’s sleeve and said in a childish voice, “Uncle said we’re picking grapes.”

Her eyes were shining with expectations, and the two adults who saw it had their hearts melt. “Alright, alright, I’ll take you there.”

Author notes:

Lu Sheng (sighing): I trusted you all so much for nothing, did you hate me so much after all!?

Lu Qipei & Qi Yang: Such a bright lightbulb1, wouldn’t anyone hate it!?

Lu Sheng (…): My back feels so heavy…
